Cynthia L. Purich

Cynthia L. Purich is a dedicated school counselor and student advocate with over two decades of experience in 504 Plan coordination, crisis intervention, and mental health support. She holds a Master of Science in School Counseling from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Towson University.

Specializing in developing 504 accommodations for students with disabilities, Cynthia ensures students receive the necessary support to thrive academically and socially while maintaining compliance with federal guidelines. She has extensive experience assisting students with mental health impairments, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and trauma, and has led crisis counseling efforts and connected families with essential mental health resources.

Beyond counseling, Cynthia has trained school counselors, developed student support programs, and coordinated major articulation efforts across multiple school levels. She excels in building collaboration among students, families, and educators to create inclusive, supportive learning environments.

A proud mother of two adopted children, Cynthia has been actively involved with ASIA Families since her daughter’s adoption from Korea, finding it an invaluable support system. She is honored to give back by serving on the ASIA Families board, helping other adoptive families build community and resources.
