NaDa Voth Shoemaker, Vice Chair
NaDa Shoemaker is a first wave Korean adoptee who arrived in the US in 1957, grew up with a loving family in a Mennonite community in Newton, Kansas. She attended Bethel College and Friends University studying both secondary English education and business administration prior to moving to PA 30 years ago. NaDa is currently Advocacy Partnership Manager and leads Indian Country work for Voices for Healthy Kids, a policy initiative of the American Heart Association.
NaDa has diverse experience as a past FQHC Executive Director in rural Appalachia, Institutional Review Board Administrator for cancer and genetics research in partnership with the Walter Reed Army Medical Center and as a Pennsylvania contractor developing and implementing tobacco cessation and prevention programs in rural counties. She has vast experience in grant writing and administration and a former grant reviewer for the Pennsylvania Dept. of Health. NaDa has provided leadership for a national cancer education and screening program addressing needs of uninsured and underserved individuals.
NaDa attended Bethel College and Friends University in Kansas and currently lives in rural Pennsylvania on a beef and maple syrup farm. In her spare time, she serves as a Stephen Minister and faith coach, also serves as a consultant and tour staff volunteer with ASIA Families. In her spare time, NaDa enjoys time with her two children and granddaughter, reading, playing piano and spending time with friends.
